About the EFP
In August 1987 the first activities aiming to the creation of a platform for the co-ordination and the improvement in the field of periodontology started.
During the 4th meeting in May 1990 in Maastricht, which was presided by U. van der Velden, a constitution including the rules of procedure for the EFP was put up and discussed. It was agreed on the organization of a European Meeting in May 1994 in Paris.
Besides three very successful conferences (Europerio 2 with more than 3500 participants and Europerio 3 with 4000) the EFP succeeded in the invention of standardized European guidelines for student and postgraduate education in the field of periodontology.

Specialist Registrars in Restorative Dentistry Group
The SRRDG was founded in 1984, as the Senior Registrars in Restorative Dentistry Group. Following the introduction of the Specialist Registrar grade and a complete revision of the Constitution, it became necessary to change the title of the Group.
The SRRDG exists to further the education and training of trainees in the Restorative Specialties, to help improve Specialist Restorative Dentistry services in the U.K. and Ireland and to liase with committees and societies associated with the Restorative Specialties.

For over two decades, the Student National Dental Association (SNDA) has been fulfilling its purpose of promoting good fellowship and cooperation among its members and aiding in the advancement of minority students in dentistry.
