The "dolls" representing these kachinas are carvings originally used as a teaching aid, but more recently as a Hopi art form. Information for this section has been taken, by permission, from a book by our friend, Barton Wright— Hopi Kachinas, The Complete Guide to Collecting Kachina Dolls.
