Calligraphy Sheets

Calligraphy Sheets Calligraphy Sheets I suggest that you not try to print these calligraphy sheets directly. Instead, view a page of calligraphy exercises and select "save as" from the "File" menu of NetScape. Then open the resulting file with a program meant to enable viewing GIF files, (such as "Clip2Gif" for Macintosh users) and print from that program. Get the excellent Macintosh utility, Clip2Gif, by anonymous ftp: here. Get the very nice PicView program for the IBM to let you open individual "gif" files you download. Unfortunatelyit won't print yet, so please give the author, who is a Russian citizen living in Moscow, the small amount of money he does ask for -- maybe if enough people support him and mention they're interested in being able toprint he will augment his program. Four Types of Famous Writing Brush in China

article selected from Travel China weekly Writing Brush Produced in Zhejiang Province's Huzhou The writhing brush produced in Huzhou, ink stick from Huizhou in Anhui Province, ink stone from Duanxi, Gaoyao country in Guangdong Province, and xuan paper, are regarded as the "four treasures of the study" in China. The Huzhou writing brush falls into four categories--the first made of goat hair which has very flexible features, second of brownish rabbit hair, third of weasel hair with stiff characteristics, and the fourth a mixture of goat and weasel hair, which is neither too flexible nor too stiff. The workmanship is exquisite and complicated, as it contains more than 120 processes from selecting materials to the finished products. The batik artist works intimately with color; if he wishes parts of his design to be light yellow, for example, all these parts must be waxed at the same time before any subsequent dyeing.
